Logo re-design
Comet Club is located at 3111 Fillmore St., San Francisco - and a bar was established at this location prior to 1914 (1914 records state an existing saloon) so a long time place for having fun and drinks - the Comet Club was established in 1996 and prior to that it was the Desert Moon and many different names before that . One of the oldest bars in the Marina / Cow Hollow neighborhood.
The original sketch came from inside the club that a local artist created. The owner wanted to include this artwork into the new logo since it was so well received with customers and staff.
The new logo conveys the essence of this San Franciscan bar. I updated the face of the moon to be more approachable and fun. The San Francisco skyline & Golden Gate bridge bring a local feeling to the logo. The challenge of the logo was to create something modern without making the mark be too fancy, and change the vibe that the bar has going for it. I solved this by using bold, playful shapes, and stayed away from unnecessary flourishes.
